Bewdley Barriers

Just popped down to the riverside to see just what's happening down there

The barriers are now 8 slats high, last week they were 2! Each slat is about 8 inches tall and as you can see from the image it is almost up to the handrail on this side. With more bad weather the next few days they expect it to reach the 3rd higher recorded height by Thursday.


The bridge is closed and the barriers are manned 24 hours a day so if there are any sudden changes they can be dealt with immediately to keep the homes and business's on the riverside safe and dry.

All businesses are open as usual and there is a diversion in place to bring you into the town. Don't let the river put you off, we'd love to see you.
